An attorney for Tara Reade, the woman accusing former Vice President Joe Biden of sexual assault, said on Friday that he had dropped her as a client without providing a reason. Doug Wigdor, a noted MeToo lawyer whose firm has represented clients with claims against high-profile men accused of abuse like Harvey Weinstein and Dominique Strauss-Kahn, said the decision was "by no means a reflection on whether then-Senator Biden sexually assaulted Ms. Wigdor, who has donated thousands of dollars to President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee, in addition to some Democratic candidates, said the decision to part ways with Reade was made on Wednesday, less than two weeks after he announced that he was representing her. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden faces a sexual assault allegation against him by a former employee. Tara Reade, who worked for the former US vice-president nearly 30 years ago, says he sexually assaulted her in the halls of Congress. Mr Biden has been accused of being "touchy feely" by multiple women, but this is the first public accusation of serious sexual misconduct against him.
Biden categorically denies all of Reade's allegations. Reade is an American domestic-violence advocate and lawyer. She states that she suffered emotional and violent physical abuse from both her father and her ex-husband, which in turn motivated her to work on behalf of victims. Reade has misrepresented herself and her life experiences on numerous occasions, including lying under oath and in court proceedings. Specifically, she has lied about holding a bachelor's degree from Antioch University , invented a secret "fast-track" bachelor's program at Antioch from which she supposedly earned her degree,  and falsely stated that she served as a visiting professor at Antioch. She misrepresented her educational background in her law school applications, allowing her to attend law school without the required bachelor's degree. In addition, Reade is currently under criminal investigation by prosecutors in Monterey County, California, for lying under oath about her educational credentials, in her appearances as an expert witness on domestic abuse. Prior to accusing him of sexual assault in , Reade made various other comments that cast her encounters with Biden in a different light.
